Taurus · Scorpio
The same appetite, pointed at completely different things.
Taurus and Scorpio sit opposite each other, and both are fixed, which means neither of them moves once they have decided. Both want to keep what is theirs. Taurus wants to hold it; Scorpio wants to know it. That difference sounds small and it decides everything.
What pulls
An opposition is not a mismatch, it is a magnet, and this is one of the most physical in the zodiac. Taurus offers something Scorpio has almost never been given: a person who does not flinch, does not get dramatic, and does not need to be managed. Scorpio offers Taurus the one thing Taurus cannot generate alone, which is depth of attention. Being looked at that closely is unnerving for about a week and then very hard to live without.
Where it grinds
Taurus’s calm, which is real, reads to Scorpio as indifference. Scorpio’s intensity, which is also real, reads to Taurus as manufacturing a crisis on a perfectly good Sunday. So Scorpio pushes to get a reaction and Taurus, being fixed, simply does not give one, which makes Scorpio push harder. Nobody is being unreasonable. They are just running two different definitions of the word close.
The long version
Two fixed signs make a relationship that lasts, and lasting is not the same as being good. This pairing will still be standing long after it stopped being worth standing, if neither of them is honest. When it is honest, it is one of the steadiest things either of them will ever have, because neither is going anywhere and both of them know it. Where their Venus and Mars actually fall matters far more here than the two Sun signs, and often explains why a pairing that should grind does not.
